I did roughly 5-6 hours again today sculpting and modelling. I’m really getting all these parts of him together and I’m excited to see what he’ll look like at the end. I want to texture him after everything is done (if I have the time). I’ll probably have some trouble trying to UV him but it’ll all be worth it.
I’ve spent roughly another six hours sculpting and modelling today. Using the concept art by Pedro Kruger Garcia as reference to what he looks like. I’ve add my own take on it only because the pictures don’t have close up details on the face and such.
Hopefully I can get UVing and texturing this week. I’d love to see this finished on my showreel.
Very busy time for me right now. Trying to get money to survive as well as having a social life and doing what I love, which is creating 3D content and art!
I’ve begun making my showreel for the end of my course, the last year of my study here.
I’ve started sculpting on zBrush this goblin that I love form one of th eartists I follow on artstation.com his name is Pedro Krüger Garcia. He allowed me to sculpt his concept and I’ll be giving him credit on my showreel! If anyone out there is reading this and is interested in amazing art. You should definitely go check his stuff out.
Here is a picture of my sculpt so far. Done in 3-4 hours
Hey guys! These past two days I just caught up with my modelling and did some work on my research essay. Just started rendering today (day 26) and I’m giving Keyshot software a go. Ran into a problem with Maya software unable to receive my obj. of my treant because of its really hi-poly, so I was told by a friend to give keyshot a go. I’m able to use it on my laptop and render out my 360 turntable for my model and I’m really looking forward to when I’ll be getting it done. For now I’m just working on my essay seeing as there’s no better time while my model is rendering on my laptop.
Hey guys, so I’ve been working on the body, I played around with adding little mushrooms to his arm (I’ll be adding a lot more!) and Ive started doing more details on his body. I’m planning to do some more layers of vines on my treant, so that he’s not jsut a mass of a tree. I’m still working on the feedback I was given before with trying to change the flow of his branches. hopefully I’ll be able to rotate them just so.
Today was Milestone 2 and I basically had to present what I’ve been up to and how things have been going, get some feedback from my classmates and teacher.
Face is more cartoon-y than the concept I had originally drawn up
Face was a bit too symmetrical
Face profile was a bit off, I need to bring the brow ridge a bit further out like in the concept I had drawn.
My teacher suggested for me to look at old gentlemen’s faces for reference and I found one that I thought was good. I really like his friendly smile, kind eyes, and the wrinkles on his face.
For the branches I need to try make them flow upwards more instead of going out from the base making it look janky.
Also need to keep in mind I need to steer clear of having my character look like Groot (Guardians of the Galaxy) or tree beard (Lord of the Rings)
I’ll be working on these in the next few days and hopefully be able to keep on track.
